resolutions made were for a healthy diet, waking up early or regular exercise.

it takes only that short of time to break free from old habits, the challenge
is why there are still many who fail to do such.
The idea of the 21-day
timeframe to form new habits is from the book “Psycho-Cybernetics”. The thing
about this idea is there is still no proof despite many attempts. The reason
behind why there are others who succeed in forming new habits does not rely on
this 21-day idea but of evaluating how a certain habit is formed.
According to psychologists,
habits begin as habit loops or patterns. These patterns are broken down into
three stages. The first part is the cue. This is where your brain and body is
set to initiate the act that will eventually become a habit. The second part is
the routine. This is the behavior that you want to be repeated. The third part
is the reward. This is the perk you get that is responsible for reinforcing your
brain to keep repeating the act. Whatever habit you form, at first instance, it
is an intentional act. Over time that you repeat the act, your brain programs
it and you therefore form an automatic habit.
To get a good habit
regarding your exercise, it would be best to start with focusing one habit at a
time. Don’t go for too many for your brain may get overwhelmed. Choose one
habit and focus on it. Getting short-term plans would help rather than making
long-term ones. Then, write your plans and the steps on how you can achieve it.
After, you could start building the new habit.
Adding fun elements on your
new habits would be a great reinforcement also. Try trampolines to add fun to
your exercise. Not only will you get the benefits but your family can enjoy it
too.
